The Department of Physics 50th Anniversary Celebration

Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd, 2009

Not only are we looking forward to seeing you again, retelling the tall tales from the good old days, and catching up with the parts of your life we have missed, but we have a terrific collection of events planned.

On Friday night we are having a "Show & Tell" with our wine and cheese. We want each of you to stand-up and share something. Us education types might do a physics demo, while industry folks might show off a short video of their latest project, others might present an unusual physics toy they found, and some might just have a photo of their family. It will be a blast, but beware of the five minute gong!

If you have more to say, and we're sure most of you do, please consider presenting a talk on Saturday. Just let us know when you register and we'll follow up with a request for a title and abstract. Remember, we believe that physics is all around us, so any talk with even the remotest connection to physics is very welcome. These talks will comprise most of the Saturday program, so start working on them!
